Thank you Michele, I've just noticed that you are very good at replying to questions, which is useful and not that common amongst other youtube nutritionists! I'll have to think of one myself! 😂

It will be helpful to note special concerns for ckd and … gout patients. Some foods recommended for ckd are not good for gout.

You listed legumes, but aren't most beans too high in potassium/phosphates, I'm confused.. exactly what means are ok, I am a diabetic with CKD.. PS. One thing that is very confusing.. lists of safe, and not safe food items differ on almost ALL lists.. and that's confusing.

I finally started buying frozen organic kale/spinach. So much easier. Same with berries.

We (wife CKD4) have been trying to be largely plant based, but now we're concerned anout oxalates, that i think we might have been too free with. Peanuts, chard, spinach, beans, trying to reduce. We still havent tested vfor oxalates, but intendvto next labs.

I hear that you should avoid spinach if you get kidney stones - high in Oxalates- many items are high in Oxalates !! Surprised their was no warning for calcium oxalate stone formers( the most common stones, I think)

When you make smoothies, what liquid do you use and what other ingredients do you include? Do you have a protein powder you like to put in your smoothies? Thank you!

making the berries into a smoothie destroys the fiber. If you are concerned about sugar, this is a no no

As a dietitian has warned me away from potassium rich foods (found in forms of green leafy vegetables) those out there please be careful, talk to YOUR doctor or dietitian. Before adding to your diet.
