But here problem with mine when I got Privacy and security and click on microphone it closes the settings app

Iv tried all these things and my mic is def working as it shows in all the different settings you suggested. When I tap on it the little sound thing goes up so its detecting sound fine, but I still can't hear myself in it??? What the heck am I doing wrong here? 🙈

I fixed my problem it was weirdly different I watched many videos and non of them fixed the problem. I went to my mic's properties > level > unmuted my mic. I reckon windows kept my mic muted after I swapped it from a muted PS5 Controller to PS4 Controller that had no mute button then into PC. this situation made my mic muted in my windows PC without knowing and this solution fixed my problem I hope this helps for anyone encountering my same problem

Worked for me, was it was selected under System > Sound > Input, but Testing it kept showing 0% volume. Wouldn't work for speech to text either (WIN + H). Good to go now. Dang now i need to get that old condenser mic out of the recycling bin... Thanks Microsoft.

Yup found the solution here for me. It was from settings, privacy, microphone, enabling microphone access/apps access. Dont know why or when it got disabled but it was quite annoying even tho I could still hear myself no one else could. ENABLE MIC ACCESS
