10 min Leg and Back Stretch routine - Hamstrings, Glutes, Inner & Outer Thigh & Lower Back | Pilates

Join me for a 10 minute leg stretch pilates routine created for anyone who gets back pain and suffers from tight hamstrings and back muscles. There are both active and passive stretches to lengthen the muscles, relieve tension and this sequence can be used on its own or as part of any wellbeing fitness routine. If you spend a lot of time sitting this will be very beneficial for you too as it both lengthens and releases the back, hip and leg muscles. It's a lying sequence suitable for all ages, you just need to make sure you don't overstretch. Stretching should feel good, a gentle pull rather than any sharp pain so be easy on yourselves, listen to your body and just take the stretch to where it feels good for you. Enjoy!

I'm a motorcycle enduro rider, which is very demanding on the legs, I found recently I've been getting cramp in my inner thighs, so I've been doing your stretches and hopefully no more cramp because that is incredibly painful thanks.

Rachel, I am so grateful you directed me to this video for my tight and painful hips after telling you in a recent live chat I had a problem sitting on floor and exercising from a straight leg position and bending forward or sitting cross legged. It feels so good, it helps relieve the tightness in lower back and hip area. I am adding it to the end of my daily Pilates exercise routine a few times a week now. Great workout to do when you have finished a run.  I am training for a half marathon and do this when I have finished a session.  Very relaxing and I notice that my stiffness has reduced and my flexibility improved.  Thank you!
