I make my sausage gravy exactly the same. So did my mom and grandma. I'm 64, so my family has been making the exact same gravy for a time! I'm like you, I can't hardly eat sausage gravy from hotels and other places. Homade is the best!

I make it this way too. If you don’t have milk, evaporated milk works well too. I prefer it.

This is exactly how I do mine. Sometimes, I add crushed red pepper for a little heat on a chilly day.

I always add a little thyme and red pepper flakes. Not much, just like 1/4 tsp of each, maybe a little more of the thyme
