Why does everyone think we have to choose? Just do both. You'll have a strong core AND aesthetic abs.

Wake up: Abs
Eat breakfast: No Abs
Work out abs: No Abs
Go on a diet: No abs
Eat taco bell at night: Abs in the morning.
Life is so hard.

To all the gym bros, go train your abs, its one of the most important muscle groups and it needs to be strong, not necessarily visible

Doing side bends, weighted crunches and weighted knee raises has definitely increased my stability

I'd say calves are one of the hardest muscles to grow

I've got a problem with my tailbone that makes sit ups really uncomfortable and this is a great alternative. Thank you.

The fact that the term “calves and calve-nots” exists should tell you which muscle is the hardest to grow

I really hate when people say “you just need to lose body fat to see your abs” I followed this advice, got to a low body fat percentage and low and behold my abs were still not visible. Once I went into a caloric surplus and started doing heavy weighted ab exercises then my abs magically blew up.

Yes diet is key to abs, but you still have to train them

You should still work your abs. They're muscles that need to be pumped just like the rest and they will grow just like the rest when they're trained

Just do both lol. I neglected ab workouts for years and still didn’t have good looking abs when I got lean. As soon as I started going hard on ab workouts, especially weighted ones, my abs start looking better than ever. I do the exact same machine he’s using in the beginning and leg raises and decline curls and I’ve gotten more results from those than from getting lean.

Men need around 12-13% body fat for visible abs. HOWEVER, abs are just like any other muscle. If you train them the way you train any of your other muscles to put on mass. They WILL GROW BIGGER. Making it possible to get away with having them visible at 14-15% bodyfat. Which is a lot of more doable and maintainable for the average person who isn't an athlete.

Love that kneeling around the world and I really prefer functional core workouts over traditional! Anything that gets multiple muscle groups working, I’m down for it!!!

I only did 3 types of crunches then bicycles and russian twist with planking knees and elbow to finish my set( no equipment ). Works for me. I got really good abs.

It still makes a difference if you want visible abs to train them. If they are more dominant, you may need 1-2% less body fat to loose, which is a lot in terms of diet

Ab workouts are NOT a waste of time. Neglecting your abs is a good way to guarantee injuries.

The harder muscle to get bigger is the brain.
