Keep looking for tips for longer breaks!!!

I’ve basically not been in a training routine since the pandemic. Up till then I’d been active all my life with one IM per year for 6 years plus lots of shorter distances, cycling TTs and runs.

I was disheartened after multiple race cancellations, hut 50, changed jobs and a few other things including long term training partners stopped training too.

5 years later I have had multiple failed attempts to return to training with illness, injury, work travel and elderly parents all affecting my ability to train consistently.

I’m around 20kms heavier, have lost CV and muscular endurance and am generally depressed

Took 2 weeks off for christmas/new year.., started again last week. Just checked.. did 36% of weekly volume the first week compared to before the break :)

Did start again with high intensity at the end off the week, felt good heartrate was little higher then used to see before though ;)

Being out of schedule makes things tricky. Also, not having a reliable pool when traveling.
