I love the irony here, that he's preaching to people who are addicted to scrolling YouTube shorts.

Learning to go without things you enjoy is very important. We as a society are so incredibly comfortable in the modern age, food is in abundance, permanent shelter, warmth, comfort. All of these things at one point in our species history were luxuries, learning to willingly take that away from yourself helps you appreciate it.

My one thing about this is going from a big city and then going to a rural countryside. It took me a month to where I was happy again. Then when you went back to the city I was so excited.

I dopamine detoxed, when I quit action sports after 9hrs a day, 22yrs. I quit because we started a family. My children replaced it. But I was depressed for awhile.

Abstinence to re-establish dopamine. I thought one needs to pursue something in order to get that hit.

The main point is clear, take a brake, but what would be the thing to get back to, same old that brought me to the low state?

I love how I'm hearing After Dark by Mr. Kitty just playing in the background.

What about a nutritional deficiency that would cause low dopamine. For example what are the pathways in the body to make dopamine? Is iron involved? Is b6 involved? Is there proteins involved? Could you make a video on that I’d love to see that information, I’ve tried looking it up on Google but didn’t get anywere

"Experts" like to make this stuff seem complicated when it's not!

ALL OF NATURE works in cycles, day/night, sleep/rest, workout/recover, eat/excrete, inhale/exhale, birth/death..., etc. So learn to allow and keep the body in it's natural "cyclical" state.

The body works by the natural laws of.. cycles, balance, dependancy, compensation.

You do one thing and the body responds with a reaction. If the thing you do is extreme enough the body will try to restore balance via compensating.

If you do something extreme for long enough time you will generate an addictive response and the body will either compensate or decay due to its damaged ability to compensate.

Hang overs are the body's re establishment of balance after consuming alchohol.

Go ahead and have a drink, but just know that the body will react to that action.

So, go ahead and have your "peak experience" but understand that everything in nature must be compensated, re balanced repaid.

It’s a shame he didn’t really go into detail about dopamine detox.

Clubbing, smoking weed, and casual sex is no longer rewarding for me; I’m 25 y/o. Spending the week working on yourself makes the weekends more enjoyable

Don't frequent dopamine spikes lead to an increased number of available receptors? What happens when dopamine levels later drop?
