I really love neuroscience. I am deeply fascinated by the fundamental questions. The only thing witholding me from choosing neuroscience is that I'm afraid i won't get tenure. Is there any possibility outside of academia where i can do basic research? And what is the chance of getting tenure as a neuroscientist?

I am from Italy 🇮🇹 I studied Industrial Design as a bachelor degree but I’m starting to get deeply fascinated with neuroscience as I am developing a prototype of a helmet for sensory impulses detection for my thesis, working with a clinic that offers experimental approaches to therapy with new technologies on autistic children .
I am currently starting the process to apply to a Master’s degree in neuroscience, but I’m not sure I have the proper curriculum :/ . We definetly study chemistry and Phisics in Industrial Design but on a less deep level …
