Being a Rotten Roomer | The People's Court

Показать описание
The plaintiff is a former law enforcement officer who has a seven-unit rooming house. The defendant rented from him for a while, smoked marijuana, and shortchanged the defendant on rent. The plaintiff is suing him for unpaid rent plus interest. The defendant argues the renting house was terrible to live in, as it had a bad smell, was infested with flies, and was covered in stains. When he complained to the plaintiff, nothing was done about the issues. The defendant also claims the plaintiff put him in a headlock and has drinking and anger problems.

At age 59 and I've been living on my own since age 15, I had 1 honest landlord when I was stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. I lived off post in Lawton, he returned my security deposit in full. I fortunately have had my own home since retiring from The Army. This rentend house in Lawton, Oklahoma was done with a handshake. Honor is rare.

It’s probably no police report because he’s a retired officer. I believe him and the brother was aggressive with him, just like I believe the defendant didn’t pay rent. So like the judge said they deserve each other 🤷🏾‍♀️

It is pretty much impossible to write on toilet paper with a crayon

The defendant interupted the judge 90% of the time she was talking. Lame.

A bit shocking to hear that the defendant once had a drinking problem.

I wouldn’t want nothing to do with a cop personally. No matter what.. the force will back him up right or wrong lol

I believe if the brother went to the defendant's job to try to get him fired, it could be seen that he acted as the plaintiff's agent.

Smh the plaintiff should've had a written contract and as soon as the defendant showed he wasn't going to pay rent, he should've began the eviction process. You give someone an inch, they'll take a mile and then you have to bring them to court lol.

I knew when the defendant walked in, before he opened his mouth, he looked dried out. And if he IS smoking trees, and he's a manager of "sober living house"...yeesg😂

"You all deserve each other." Exactly what I was thinking. I don't see any victims here. Just some whiny "macho" men.

There was no written lease. If the conditions were that bad, you leave. The defendant didn't contact the housing authority until he was threatened with eviction. The plaintiff should have thrown him out the second month when he failed to pay. The defendant is a bumb.

Omg the defendant, just said that he don't believe in living somewhere for free. But you did not pay rent for several months 😮😮 The defendant sounds and look like he does do drugs and drink at the moment 😮😮
