Being a Rotten Renter | The People's Court

The plaintiff paid the defendant to rent an apartment. When she went to move in, there was a no trespassing sign on the fence, and the gate was locked. The plaintiff found out the apartment was illegal, and she couldn't move in, so the plaintiff is suing for her money back. The defendant claims the plaintiff gave him money to hold the apartment, but he ran a background check and found out she was being evicted. The defendant told the plaintiff she was not welcome and alleges she tried to break into the place.

She's back in the place she was getting evicted from AND filed for bankruptcy?

Yeah she's squatting in that house too lol.

She tried to squat. Luckily for him, he blocked her. Still in many places it takes many MONTHS to dislodge a squatter. They dig in like an Alabamy tick.

Who leaves their cell phone at home? Also, when someone says "in the name of God, your honor", you know they are lying.

Left her phone at home (probably left it in the car) - yeah, this ain't her first rodeo. She didn't want our judge looking through her phone to find the evidence she claimed never existed. 🤥 🤥 👖 🔥

5:43 she is telling the truth in the name (long lying pause) she couldn’t even finish the sentence. Girl who are you swearing on for this lie, Ronald McDonald 🤔

The minute she started being indignant and talking over the judge and calling the defendant a liar we all knew she's a scammer. Boy did he miss a huge bullet. She would have squatted for certain.

"As long as she's not in my house, it's a win for me" - Amen to that!
I for one am happy to never see or hear about the plaintiff ever again. 🤣😂🤣
Messy, manipulative, and difficult in the flesh.

You absolutely can white out text and recopy it, without ANY evidence of doing so. Plus, why would her copy of the lease have "many, many staple holes"(FOUR sets)? I find it hard to believe he found out about her poor history and did nothing to contact her and tell her he didn't want to rent to her. I absolutely believe she tried to break in, move her things in, and set up a "squatting" situation. It sounds like he told her he wouldn't rent to her and she was fighting him on it. She seems like a normal, middle aged person. However, so did the guy they just arrested in my city for moving into a vacant house and not leaving for 15 months😂. She went through the effort to put a stop payment on A CHECK to create a paper trail. She probably did it after she was prevented from moving in. He should have counter sued for aggravation. If she would have left the situation peacefully, he would have given back her deposit, and he would have not had to deal with ANY of this nonsense.
