The plaintiff subleased a room in the defendants’ house, but she says the defendants were violent and locked her out of the home. Strangers cramming themselves into homes with other strangers is such a problem.

I don't see how the plaintiff's "15-days notice and then we'll see, " is legal. The defendant can't rent out the space for the second half of the month because the plaintiff might decide to stay. Payment is by the month, not by the day, week or fortnight.

Many people want the benefit of being a landlord to collect rent but also want to be exempt from the laws landlords must follow

I'm glad JM explains as she did today, the reasons for her judgement.

That Canadian bacon flipped her pancakes!! The defendants only mistake was locking her out.

People who are easily “afraid” of others have no business cohabitating with strangers.

It sounds like her rent money was spent on the Canada trip.

The defendant could’ve won the case… if instead of locking her out when she came back told her she did not except the $300 as rent and she’s going to be starting the eviction process. 😩 but she wanted her out right then that second.

No landlord can change locks cut utilities or enter a tenet’s apartment without first filing the evection paperwork. Everyone has rights and as much as you want that person gone you can’t violate their rights.

When someone is as (old) as the plaintiff and still looking to rent a room. BEST She's going to be a major problem.

No cops told her, “Oh, yeah, that’s the house with the ‘troubled son.’” 🙄

I love that they keep referring to him as "the Canadian boyfriend" like he's a pitbull or something.

Dang FL dont play!! I think thats a good law to avoid situations like this. I dont think they were too afraid of the boyfriend if they didnt call the police. Fair judgment

If what the defendant said about Russ is true, than the plaintiff is the loser in this. Hopefully it isn't true, but I really can't understand why anyone continues to stay in an abusive relationship.
