Do you want to know some “heathly” foods that are actually remarkably unhealthy?
grains - They lead to blood glucose dysregulation and are insulinogenic. They’re heavily sprayed with herbicides and pesticides which are known endocrine disruptors, and since fat accumulation is largely endocrine related, this can make you fat. They have tons of plant defense chemicals, they’re often fortified with iron, which can lead to oxidative stress, inflammation, and weight gain and they can also inflame your gut.

These have poor protein bioavailability and contain numerous plant defense chemicals, which can prevent the absorption of really important micronutrients. Also, don’t eat food that makes you fart.

Nuts and nut butters

These also have inferior protein amino acid profiles and they’re also high in polyunsaturated fatty acids which are preferentially stored in fat.

Anything that’s ultra-processed that says organic, gluten-free, keto, or vegan. You’re fooling yourself if you think any of that stuff is good for you. Good marketing totally tricked us all.

Cooking beans/legumes removes their defence chemicals. I’m not saying they should replace meat in any way but they do offer a lot of nutrients and can be a part of a healthy diet.

here in brazil we have beans everyday, we can’t live without it! we let the grains soak with some vinegar and it takes away the “bad components and anti-nutrients” which helps with the “farting” situation too!!

It is virtually impossible to get enough magnesium in your diet without beans. My wife is a registered nurse for 16 years and says mexican people NEVER need mag. replacement at the hospital.

Anti-nutrients are easy to neutralize with cooking, allium vegetables, and vitamin c containing foods like bell peppers. And anti-nutrients like phytate, tannins, and lectins have potent anti-cancer effects.

Also you can buy organic food if you are worried about pesticides. Non-organic meat has glyphosate residue in it, can't wash that off.

I think you need to do a cost benefit analysis on some of these. Just because something isn't in the top 3 healthiest foods doesn't mean it's "incredibly unhealthy." I've lost 50+ lbs (177lbs - 125lbs) cutting out most ultra processed foods, and one of my favorite foods that I eat regularly are nut butters.

Eat what's grown, don't eat packaged sugary foods that are not the following: Fruits, Vegetables, Meats (Except pork), and Everything grown. avoid bread
