Have you ever used a machine like this? While it can pump out some interesting data - it has some major draw backs in the assessment of someone’s rehabilitation as it doesn’t tell you how that person moves as a linkage (aka the “kinetic chain”).
.
Shout out @charleykalefitness for the opening stitched video!

Currently moping on the couch with a partial hip flexor tear and a potential (but looking increasingly likely) labrum tear in the same hip. Looking at this makes me hurt physically and mentally lol. This 22 year old is sick and tired of joint I was genuinely stuck on the floor yesterday because my left hip was immobilized and my right knee can't bear my whole weight to get up. At 22. Anyway I'm gonna go keep moping 😂

I understand the swelling part. Per fluid build up, lymph, and inflammation. Understand the pain part, as well.
I had to use an isokinetic machine in PT and was the worst pain of all. I did, as it isolated the injury but didn't do anything for the agonist muscles by any means. As you said.
I'm glad you mention the hop stuff, but would that be dangerous in certain cases or symptoms such as Osgood-Schlatter?
Would love to pick your PT brain as a LMT.

Indeed.
We just did these tests during an internship at a physiotherapy sports clinic. He also had a handheld device to measure force for some of these assessments.

I was told very heavy leg extensions can damage a ligament or tendon, and with them pressing as hard as they can I would think that would also cause damage or a tear that is not conducive for healing a rehab. Is that true?

I manage a gym, we have a system called EGYM which uses magnets to create resistance. They have strength tests and screens that will show at what tempo to go. They have functions to increase weight on negatives, active drop set, and a bunch of other stuff!
