I worked nights for three years, concluding in the pandemic, honestly the lack of quality sleep was a slow miserable slide in to depression. Mentally and physically wrecked me. I’m healing now, and taking so much better care of myself.

Wowee, thanks for this one in particular.

My wind-down routine is my screen time!!
And I constantly ignore my morning alarm.
I’m excited to cut these habits out now to fine-tune my sleep schedule.

3am waking and 3hrs awake in the middle of the night is very common in post menopausal women and utterly ignored
'Get out of bed and sit somewhere else' is fine in warm weather or if you have central heating

I LOVE meditation and overall psychology. This video was super helpful, considering Ive struggled with mental health issues for years, and my sleep pattern is always weird because of it. Recently, I think I even broke a rib due to my anorexia (we’re thinking) which is causing chronic pain and a very hard time sleeping at night. These things definitely helped and I will be giving them a try ☺️

I struggle with bad depression and anxiety. I've been on all the meds with no help in anything. I have ambien to help me sleep, but it doesn't work. I've tried melatonin. However, my brain will not stop. I lay there thinking of stories on my head . Before I know it it's been 2 hours and I am still awake .

Hello . I have a really weird question... I was coming out off a short period of little sleep. I had really much stress and anxiety because of all the sleep loss. I did everything to sleep better like fasting, sleeping pills, sleep music, meditation, exercises, daylight. The only thing that now works a bit is daylight to fall asleep faster.. So now i sleep a lot better and longer, and i sleep really deeply now. I know sleep 10 minutes shorter than the average person (7 hours) I know that sleep loss is wortheless, but it it irritating me. They say how better the sleep quality the less sleep you need. But thats not what i want. So my weird question is why can't i sleep longer and how do i sleep longer? (I dont have stress, anxiety, depression or other things like that

I agree. Try therapeutic sleep music. 👍

My completely standard time to fall asleep: 2 hours. Making sure not to eat 2 hours before bed and not to look at screens for an hour or 2 hours before. I still can't fall asleep and I'm not even close. Plus the people at home who don't give a damn that I want to sleep, but that's only recently because I've been going to bed earlier.

What about when you need to wake up earlier than usual? How would I adapt to that?
