The shoulder is the most mobile joint in the human. It's responsible for adduction, flexion, abduction, internal/external rotation, 360 degrees circumduction in the sagittal plane, and extension. When training your shoulders, if it cannot reach your full range of motion, it's safe to assume that you aren't maximizing your workout and possibly leaving more room for injury.
