I struggle with this at work. But at least in my office I am significantly more skilled and experienced than anyone else. At least on certain sets of tasks. I try to point out the things I don't do well to mitigate some of the resentment, but there are a few people that just can't get past it.

Apart from thinking you're the smartest, I think you can add to that, thinking you are the funniest. Or closely related to that, being funny at the wrong time. Or just trying to be constantly funny.

So my thinking now is, that the best way to wipe the spaghetti sauce off your face, is don't try to be smarter than anyone else, and also, keep the funny stuff to a minimum.

Humility is a funny thing to get your head around. But if you have ADS, it definitely pays dividends once you master it.

Just because people can see a lack of humility does not mean that you are humiliated. I am aware of my shortcomings even when I do not actively acknowledge them. I prefer the sauce on my face. I wear it better than most people.

Also when people have something important to add kudos. It does not happen nearly often enough they are lucky to have someone smart enough to be judged
