My name is Isaiah Rivera and I have the highest officially tested vertical on the planet at 50.5 inches and am the co-founder of THPstrength, a company that focuses on vertical jump training for athletes.

What makes me a little different from most athletes that jump high is that I started with a pretty low vertical and documented my entire journey on this channel. Here is my journey in a nutshell:

14: Started working out to jump higher for basketball
16: Hit my first dunk and shortly after found out about the world of pro dunking
17: Trained like a madman and hit my first between the legs dunk
18: Entered my first professional dunk contest
19: Knee pain almost made me quit dunking
20: Met my coach John Evans, who helped me get rid of knee pain
21: Won my first international dunk contest
22: Tested a 48 inch vertical and started coaching full time
24: Tested a world record 50.5 inch vertical

The reason I make so much free content about jumping higher now is because it’s a resource I wish I would’ve had when I was in high school that would’ve prevented a lot of unnecessary mistakes and injuries.

My mission is to share my passion and love for dunking and training and to make dunking an officially recognized sport.

I’ve been doing this front delt stretch where you basically are in the same position as doing dips on a bench and just holding it and I’ve noticed it’s increased my arm swing rom significantly I haven’t seen this anywhere from any jump coaches but it worked great for me

On the calf stretch: You say to have toes about 4 inches from wall in general, but not if that YOUR limit or not. So my question is, when you say "We've all compared where we are in this stretch" and "use that info as you want"... but then how mobile are you guys in that? Thats is how many inches can YOU max be from the box(measured from your toes ofc!)?

1:23 When you say you like 4 inches in this stretch do you mean 4 inches between the wall and your knee or the wall and your toes?

it is very difficult that develop ankle mobility and thats why i can not do big penaultimate step :(. lastly you very right i have pain in hamstrings, hips and my back, my flexbility not good, when i try to improve hamstring and hips flexibility exercise my pain higher and higher for 2 months so i will stop to do flexbility, just doing heavy weight

Whenever I kick my plant leg out on an approach should I keep it relaxed or flex it to make it stiffer?

but what should I do if I jump off on leg? I mean because when jumping off one leg you won't need this kind of stretches at all, I guess, idk should I still do this?

My son can grab the rim now and is starting to become obsessed with the idea of dunking. He's 13. Is that too young to start jump training seriously? I don't want him to impact his growth/height potential.

Are these stretches also good to Do them as dynamic stretches as an part of a warmup ?

In the first exercise can I rest my foot on a chair instead of the wall? Using the wall makes my foot hurt. and thank you very much for these stretches, you motivate me a lot
