As a 67 year old I’ve gone to more time under tension and lower weights on nearly all my lifting. You’re less likely to hurt yourself with joint damage and tendinitis. When you’re up there in age you just don’t bounce back as fast from an injury.

So this is great, but on the 2nd advice, while it is true that going beyond upper contractile motion in curls no longer provides tension, anatomically and mechanically you should beyond up to your shoulders in curls, because they can actually contract as that is considered full range of motion actually in the sports medicine world.
