Apologies to all. I couldn't keep up giving a 👍 to all of us who love Jacques! What a treasure he is! My sincere love to all out there who treasure him also. I remember my Mother and I growing strawberries and having them with a pinch of sugar and cream in a small bowl as a snack while weeding in the garden.

That sounds delicious Chef Jacques! So simple, and a wonderful memory. A green salad with new potatoes and asparagus is one of my favorites. One of my favorite memories is of picking rhubarb in the garden, washing it under the hose and eating it raw, dipped into a cup of sugar.

Those special childhood memories of our mothers doing these genius things never leaves us…those of us that were lucky enough to have great mothers

My father did all of the cooking when I was growing up. My mother did the baking. His standard Sunday meal was called rump roast with plenty of garlic, onions, carrots, celery, and potatoes using bay leaves. Another favorite of mine that he made was sauerkraut with pork and caraway seeds. He also fixed an old German recipe called Roladin. Surprising to me, he used mustard and chopped up pickles rolled inside of beef.

Chef Jacques always brings a smile to my face... not only for his logical (common-sense) ways of cooking, but also, because you can barely understand him sometimes! French is such a cool language!

I wonder if Jacques knows that, in one of her cookbooks, Julia Child referred to him as "capable".Sacre bleu!

For more than 50 years on Thanksgiving and Christmas my Mom and I would try something different to improve the classic Green Bean Casserole. We didn’t even really like Green Bean Casserole but we kept working on it year after year. We tried everything imaginable without achieving success. We would say that we are never going to do that again! Then Thanksgiving comes around and there we are trying yet again!🤣
My Family all gone now and I long for those days. I really miss you Mom.😢

I made fresh French Fried potatoes on day. Then once they were cooked and very hot. I put them on top of the garden salad I had. Just did it, nothing planned. Dressed the potatoes/salad with a vinaigrette. My daughter was shocked. She said, "Dad! That's really bad." I told her to try some. She then said "Oh, this is good." We called the dish "A Good and Bad." It's become a regular dish now in our family. She's married with kids and they always want A Good and Bad when the drop by. Note: The potatoes need to be straight out of the fryer. Pipping hot.
