InPresence 0030: Psychic Liberation with Jeffrey Mishlove

InPresence host, Jeffrey Mishlove, PhD, is author of The Roots of Consciousness, Psi Development Systems, and The PK Man. Between 1986 and 2002 he hosted and co-produced the original Thinking Allowed public television series. He is the recipient of the only doctoral diploma in "parapsychology" ever awarded by an accredited university (University of California, Berkeley, 1980). For many years he served as president of the non-profit Intuition Network, an organization dedicated to creating a world in which all people were supported and encouraged in developing inner intuitive abilities.

Here he proclaims that the time has arrived for a psychic liberation movement. He reviews liberation movements of the past including civil rights, anti-war, women's liberation, and gay liberation. He lists a series of injustices -- particularly within academic -- faced by researchers, teachers, and students interested in parapsychology. He urges viewers to consider what they might be able to do to encourage and provide social support for those engaged in the psychic field.

Jeffrey, I totally agree. A good antidote to the skeptics is to explain Ken Wilber's "flatland." As you probably know, Wilber uses the term flatland to describe what happens when one or more of the philosophical quadrants is ignored, undervalued or flattened.

Things and changes always come out of necessity. If the suffering in this world will come to the extreme, people will have no other choices except 2: die because of their ignorance or turn to metaphysics. I think that's the Divine plan. Jeffrey Mishlove, you are certainly right about Psychic Liberation. I hope that all spirits and physical consciousnesses realize that we must stop psychic violence now. We need to live with dignity and mutual respect. I don't know what to say to them stop psychic harassment, but i am positive sure that is possible all mankind develop psychic abilities with open mind, health food and respectful life.Just because we need to preserve our psychic energy to regenerate and develop such abilities.

Thanks again Jeffrey for continuing to upload interesting and uplifting material for all to ponder and benefit from. Seems to me there is always the possibility of encountering opposition or unpleasantness in the universe. I've been around a while now, and I'm really coming to believe that what we focus on grows in our experience. So I try to avoid gossip, discussions on illness... and paying too much attention to the mainstream news.... and I think that my life is better as a result. I try to 'choose my own adventure' as it were. We can't please everyone all the time, especially if we wish to remain true to our ideals. If the 'fundamentalist skeptics' disagree with anything we are playing with, it doesn't have to stop us from progressing and having fun. It is great to have you as an elder in my tribe Jeffrey. I agree with all points made, Dr. Mishlove. Keep it up, you are a hero! In my attempts to discuss similar points with some of my friends, I come to find out to my dismay how skeptical they are without much knowledge or background in the subject matter! I guess it is very difficult to be open-minded in a culture of skepticism on anything not in the "main stream"!

We certainly support your call to help to give psychic science a merited place in our lives. We are very fond of Rupert Sheldrake and his research into telepathy - and he strangely is still listed in Wikipedia. Not only your discipline is censored in Wikipedia. Since I realised that I stopped to support them and sent them my feedback to tell them why. But, as you said, it obviously needs still more and more time. But the Berlin wall fell in only 1 day. Let's hope in something alike here, too!
