InPresence host, Jeffrey Mishlove, PhD, is author of The Roots of Consciousness, Psi Development Systems, and The PK Man. Between 1986 and 2002 he hosted and co-produced the original Thinking Allowed public television series. He is the recipient of the only doctoral diploma in "parapsychology" ever awarded by an accredited university (University of California, Berkeley, 1980). For many years he served as president of the non-profit Intuition Network, an organization dedicated to creating a world in which all people were supported and encouraged in developing inner intuitive abilities.

Here he shares his feelings about having conducted video conversations with more than 50 individuals who are now deceased. He describes musician, George Harrison's wish to die consciously, and he discusses the "art of dying" as it has been presented in various cultures, including Egypt and China. He also reviews some findings from near-death research, particularly the life-review experience reported by some.

(Recorded on March 15, 2018)

I am very happy to learn of George Harrison's intention to die wholly consciously and of his wife's report of the room filling up with light at the moment of his passing. At the end of all your talks you always thank us for being with you. Thank you for being with us!

Dr. Mishlove, I want you to know that you've had a positive impact on my life. I don't look up to many people; there aren't many people I'd like to be like. But there are aspects of you that I admire.

How timely that you post this video on March 29th, Jeffrey. That evening on my long drive home from work out of town, I remembered a song I hadn’t thought of in years and became lost in singing it over and over. I wasn’t sure why, but now I see the synchronicity.

“Oh Danny Boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling
From glen to glen and down the mountain side
The summer's gone, and all the roses falling
‘Tis you, ‘Tis you, must go, and I must bide
But come ye back when summer's in the meadow
Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow
For I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow
Oh Danny Boy, oh Danny Boy, I love you so
But if ye come, and all the flowers are dying
And I am dead, as dead I well may be
You'll come and find the place where I am lying
And kneel and say an "Ave" there for me
And I will know, tho' soft ye tread above me
And then my grave will richer, sweeter be
And you'll bend down and tell me that you love me
And I will rest in peace until you come to me”

Amazing - such a taboo subject that he just TAKES ON! Not a boomer but have had the near death experience. It changed my life - made me appreciate everything and everyone I love so much more! :-) Great talk!

Thank you very much Mr Mishlove for this life-changing video cast. It's always great to have a new question to ask oneself about the end of one's life and in my case I have never even asked the question. The quest for the answer to this question will be a fantastic adventure for the rest of my life.

Consciously, like flipping the switch instead of someone else flipping it for you, that sounds great. It reminds me of an article I read about a guru in India who announced that he was going to discarnate himself at a certain place and time; over 100, 000 people showed up, and he changed his mind.

I have read the book "I'm Dying To Be Me". by a woman who went, and came back. Her descriptions are so lovely, and hopeful and DELIGHTFULL that I am not fearing death at all...it is the part about which I have a few thoughts....tho I truly hope to die laughing. And I am collecting comedy videos to enhance that process. And watching you makes me laugh a lot :) :)

Jeffery, George 'did not make it a point at the end of his life when he was dying of cancer...' to research the art of dying, he was always fascinated by what happens during this process and where we go afterwards. He wrote 'The Art of Dying' song aged 27 years and 'Within you, Without You' aged 23 years. Check his 'The Last Performance' interview where he talks about this. John Lennon also wrote 'Tomorrow Never Knows' aged 26. The most reflective work in reseaching this for over fifty-years is a series of experiments (including those of Fredrick Myers) published in a book in 1980 by John Beard called 'Living On.' The book really takes off in the second half.

Jeffrey this popped up exactly as I was searching for something to tell me how to prepare for death. I'm in the last 3rd of my life. I just don't want to get there and be confused. Anyway your words are always comforting, thank you.
