How to use the Microsoft Your Phone app on your Galaxy smartphone

00:30 - To get started, search for the Your Phone app, which is natively integrated on the latest Windows 10 PCs. If your PC is running an earlier version of windows, download the Your Phone app from the Microsoft store.
00:44 - Open the Your Phone app. Now choose Android as your mobile OS.
00:50 - You'll now be presented with a QR code to scan on your phone.
00:54 - Now let's get your phone app activated on your smartphone.
00:58 - The app is natively integrated on the latest Galaxy devices. Just swipe down to access your Quick Panel and tap Link to Windows. If you don't have Link to Windows, you can download the Your Phone Companion app from Google Play.
01:12 - Now, toggle Link to Windows on, then tap Add computer.
01:17 - Click Link your phone and PC and continue.
01:20 - You can now scan the QR code with your phone. Or you can choose to sign in with your Microsoft account credentials. This will link your devices.
01:30 - Click through the prompts to allow the connection.
01:37 - You're all set! Now that you're set up, you can access your Galaxy phone right from your PC.

i have been using your phone companion app since 2019 but right now i don't have an option to access app's through my pc, I'm using the Samsung Galaxy M30, is there any way i can access my phone apps via pc

What is confusing is when you install the "Your Phone" app, it doesn't show up in the list of apps. So I am like where the f is it? Why not add the link there too? Much more logical than looking on the notification screen IMO

You guys updated the app in Galaxy Store and guess what, it still doesn't work. Idk what your collaboration with Microsoft is doing, but from a user perspective, it seems more like you're not collaborating enough.

These apps, collaborations, projects come and go. Samsung has had a dozen file transfer to PC apps in the same amount of years. Some even as recent on the Windows app store. All were rarely updated and then discontinued. Also, Samsung makes a change, or MS makes a change and then the app suddenly doesn't work. Just need a basic universal wifi direct protocol to send and received any media/file from any android phone to any PC. Why is that so hard? WiFi direct is THERE, just no one wants to support it. Instead they come out with these overly complicated, horrendous methods to get files from one device to another. MS Near Share, Google Snapdrop, blah blah blah. Meanwhile Apple's Airdrop has been working flawlessly for over a decade. Any size file, multiple files, any type of file, transfer both ways... Quite honestly Samsung, Microsoft, Google.. shame on you all.

What is the point in this app if you need me to have my phone with me anyway to constantly unlock it to use features? If I want to open Youtube Music to select something to listen to in my already connected bluetooth buds, I have to have my phone next to me so you can have me give permission to display the phone. Why the fuck would I not just physically use my phone at that point? Oh boy I can mirror the phone that's right next to me! Aside from receiving notifications on my pc from my phone, this is a completely worthless extra step to using my phone. On top of that, it only shows photos in your phones camera folder. So if you move them or put them on the SD, they don't show. Yay. I can see .5% of my photos. Great.
