That's more salsa criolla tha chimichurri, really. I'd NEVER add cilantro or basil to chimichurri, never, ever in a million years. Might be an updated American version, sure as hell it's not a typical Argentine chimichurri. We rarely if ever use cilantro. We use it for non-traditional Argentine dishes, like guacamole or Peruvian inspired food. You can find it sometimes in places like Walmart, Carrefour or Coto, but not in common verdulerías de barrio. I buy mine in a feria ( local farmers market). But cilantro is not very popular, it's not for Argentine tastebuds mostly. Basil is quite another beast, due to the Italian roots of part of our foods. Stay with garlic, parsley, pepper seeds (aji molido), wine vinegar, oregano, salt, a little bit of water and oil. THAT'S chimichurri, the real one. Salsa criolla, involves red bell peppers, onion, salt, vinegar, and oil, then, you can add, thingies like you did here, to experiment. But the basic salsa criolla is onions, bell peppers, vinegar, oil, salt, and nothing else. Yo add it to chorizos, or asado, and add all the spicy (due to aji molido and garlic) chimichurri, and that's it.
