The primary reason to pay more and get the SR22T over the SR22 is climb in mountain regions and flying higher to gain speed and fuel efficiency. The SR22 can only fly up to 17, 500. The SR22T can go to 25, 000. The turbo also ensures you will negotiate mountains more safely.
