No one would eat half a pint of blueberries?... You gravely underestimate my power

Good video Andy. I’ve also noticed for myself that once I started to eat more whole fruit, my cravings for processed sweets went away. It likely part of the reason why people who ate more whole fruit tend to have better body compositions (on average)

You're awesome for explaining this for people. Meat and fruit have been the staples of my diet for the past 2 years, a few veggies and some coffee. Simple and I don't have to track anything.

I love your videos. As an athlete, your perspective is very helpful for me. However, sometimes I think you put a bit to much emphasis on presuming that most people are depleting their liver storage daily and living an active lifestyle. However, perhaps it is reasonable to assume that 50+% of the people listening to nutrition lectures live active lifestyles and eat reasonably.... Either way, great work as always. Thanks for being such a great teacher.

Oh I love hearing this. I think of fruit as natures candy and I love to eat it with whey protein and yoghurt post workout.

I totally agree with you, the question is WHEN eating the fruits, after a meal or snack with something fat. Thanks

Thank you Sir for all of the video content! I find the physiology of fat loss pretty interesting. Have you ever thought of doing a video on how; hormones, SNS and PNS, or the intake of carbs during or around workouts effect fat loss? I’ve been listening to a lot of Christian Thibaudaue and was wondering your take.
Thanks again

The problem is not with fruits. But, people consume lots and lots of sugar throughout the day and also alcohol. After that if they have extra fruits like bananas, mangoes and pineapples than its a problem.

They are the same people that put skimmed milk in their coffee (cos low fat).... then eat 3 cookies with it when nobody's watching.

somehow people think that just eating sugar is going to cause you to gain all this extra weight. from a standpoint of weight, it's burned the same. from a health standpoint, too much of it can cause irritability and issues down the line. It's low calories. because some people for whatever reason have sounded some alarm that fruits contain some fructose and how fructose has been known to be in fruits people stay away from it. complete garbage. it's in such small amounts and the amount of fructose that someone would have to eat to have any effect is astounding. and fruit already as you said in the video is low in calories and it's satiating. people are blowing them reminds for no reason.

This information is relevant for those who have not already put themselves into an insulin resistant state. The lean "for now" 20 somethings who are taking pre workouts/post workout carb/protein concoctions will not benefit by adding more whole fruits on top. In that scenario, you bet the added fructose is having a harmful effect, pushing them further into insulin resistance. If you haven't' been going down this road, or will be REPLACING the sports supplements, juices, and added sugar with whole fruits, then yes, this will be healthier.

Let's say you ate 80 Grams of fructose day.... There would still only be fat storage if in surplus right? Even if you are over your liver storage in fructose.

Hello, thanks for great, valuable, and real information. I really apreciate people like you take some time to explain all that stuff. Can you help us understand how much fruit at day would be considered healthy. And ok, I understand that 50 g of sugar is ok for the liver, but, wich percent of the total carbs in a healthy diet, should come from sugar, either added or natural (including lactose and fructose). Thank you very much.

Andrew has clearly never seen me eat blueberries. First quarte of the bucket goes in my face, then I'll start picking for later 🤣

I think this often gets conflated as "fruit makes you fat" when the more accurate statement is "fructose is stored as fat". I agree with what you said in the video, but it was overly simplified at the same time. Yes, one banana or a half cup of blueberries is not going to make you fat, but it will contribute to a store of fructose as body fat. If you are doing that every day, and likely to much higher volumes, it could be a factor in stored body fat. You have to take in consideration the full daily consumption of fructose, and the compounding volume of weeks/months of that eating. Then it gets much worse if you are consuming things like HFCS.

Love the info you provide.
Question, since most people are obese and thus most probably have a fatty liver, won't consuming fructose just add more fat to the fatty liver; because liver is the only organ that hands fructose.
