Bodyweight can get you jacked as long as you train To failure and eat at a surplus. Muscles cant tell the difference

Another trick is you can do calisthenics while eating in a surplus so that you gain weight over time. That way it's like you are doing weighted pushups/pullups with the added bodyweight over time.

i think it is important to master your own bodyweight before you do weighted calisthenics.
if you struggle working out with your own bodyweight, it's not worth it doing it with weights.

Mike tyson got crazy big and fast from a calisthenics program. You can definitely get big by just adding some dumbbell exercises or a weighted vest.

Aint no limits. As long as you rep until failure no matter if its 1 rep or 100 reps, you will grow.

I'm a woman and even I know this is not true... Food makes you a bigger surplus not weights Heavy weights help to stress the muscle quicker. Which tear them regrow. You can stress the muscle with the body just more reps and seconds. Isometric moves build strength quickly. But guys it's the food that makes you bigger not the weight-high protein in surplus use a macro calculator

Quick explanation: a key factor in muscle building(hypertrophy) is progressive overload, meaning that your muscles move against stronger and stronger force to adapt and grow bigger and bigger, and this is easiest by adding more and more weight.

I feel your right, if you want significant improvement after a certain point, you've got to mix it up

Appreciate You Bro. Bought your Basic program a few months ago at age 50. I'm still ripped from 20+yrs of Army life (Instagram), but I get alot of Attention from Men & Woman alike. As a Great inspiration for All. Only workout a few days a week since I Mountain Bike. Love Your programs and will definitely buy More. Keep up the Great Work Yo! ^^

True: I did body weight training for years, and I was lean and in shape but not jacked. I recently started weight training ( 2 months ago), and already I'm seeing a lot more improvements and muscle.

Calisthenics builds muscle. YES, adding weight is a great way to further overload when you get stronger.

Even without adding weight, it's still possible to further overload by for example: going from pushups, to diamond pushups, to 1-hand, to handstand, and further beyond.

I still do pushups everyday even though I can bang out like 70 in a row now no problem.

It's still greatly beneficial for me.

As a calisthenics guy with the SAME problem, add a couple of benches to your routine to build that upper chest, and you will have that physique.
