I have a pet male mouse who is 2 years old. His health has been declining recently, and I have realized his life is drawing to an end. I have had a friend die unexpectantly recently and have been afraid of death, especially as my chickens are now at the end of their given lifespan, and we hatched them from babies. This message made me cry. It made me realize that whilst I will have to let go of them, and move on with my life, I have been their forever. Thank you.

Edit: He passed away a couple of months after I posted this. R.I.P little guy, I love you. I was your forever.
Double edit: We got new mice, and have had them for two months or so. Just discovered a tumor on one of them.
Triple edit: She has sadly passed. We did all we could.

This is exactly how I dealt with my first pair dying… reminded myself that I gave them the best possible life when I adopted them and they had a wonderful life even though it was too short
