7’000 calories for breakfast (10k calorie challenge is a joke!)

Buffets and I, an endless love hate relationship.
Travelling some years back in time I would try to stick to my routine as much as possible. In the meantime, however, I find sampling different food exciting and enjoy it very much. I literally don’t limit myself and eat until my body tells me to stop - I don’t always listen to my body then though. ;)
I’ve noticed a huge popularity in food challenges on youtube. Even though there are different challenges online, I believe the basic 10k calories challenge can be mastered without any effort by anyone.
After a few days of eating breakfast at the buffet I was curious to know how many calories my ‘regular’ vacation breakfasts contain. Not surprising at all, it added up to almost three times the amount I usually eat. Combined with a small lunch/snack and a huge dinner, I end up in eating way more than 10’000 or even 15’000 calories even without intentionally trying to get a certain amount of calories in!
What people have to realize, in my opinion, is that some food types are extremely high in calories (pastries in this case). By binging three or four pastries you already have 1’000 calories consumed and no one tells me that one stops there.
This video is by no means a showcase of what a beast I am nor do I want to animate you to do the same. On the contrary, I want to sensibilize people how quick calories can sum up and exceed the daily calorie requirement.
After one week of eating whatever I want and as much as I want, it’s time to get back on track! Despite the fact that I loved eating all the pastries for breakfast, I am literally happy that I won’t have these choices anymore and can have my regular muesli instead.

For those who are interested: I’ve certainly gained some fat during the period of the last week. It has to be said though that I’m going to be the same weight as before my vacation in no time! What is important to me is that my abs are still visible to some extend ;)
