Chest and Triceps Workout! Senior Strength and Fitness workout! In today's workout I continue to get more consistent with my bench press. I get really good pec activation with the bench press so, I'm trying to rekindle my love of them.

Today we took a little road trip to one of our favorite gyms for this sweet chest and triceps workout and it was awesome.

Fairly low volume, fairly intense and totally awesome workout today.
This is a brand new gym with some nice, shiny new equipment and a fabulous outdoor turf area. Nice.

Plus, I talk a little bit about my push up technique at the end (why I do push ups the way I do).

Good workout. I do my bench and push ups with a close grip due to an old rotator cuff injury. Gotta protect your joints first.

Awesome video. I really like that gym - especially the outdoor area. Bench and push ups looking strong!

Bench [upper body in general] has always been my strong point too.

Tomorrow is my 5x10 bench day [and triceps]. Shooting for 235 💪🏽💪🏽.

Cool gym and good workout! My two goals to be completed within a year from now--do one pull up and hit 405 on the bench. 've got my work cut out for me, but I it's doable.

I wouldn't worry about your hand placement on push ups. Experiencing good pain (a little soreness) is better than bad pain (a lingering or nagging injury). Besides, the rest of your push up form is excellent (no rounded back, no hip sag, no bent legs). Varying your hand placement is good for targeting different muscle groups anyway. On occasion, I'll do VPU's during a workout (Various Push Ups). I do one set each of Regular, Elevated, Pike, and Diamond push ups. A couple of weeks ago, I did standing overhead dumbbell presses, and followed that up on the mat with dumbbell floor presses, and the chest pump I got was the best I'd ever experienced. On your bench presses, are you looking to progressively overload on those as you are on your deadlifts (upping the weight by 5 or 10 pounds each time you schedule that exercise)? The outdoor workout area looked awesome too!
