A thorough explanation for the counting one:
It refrnces an old Japanese folktale. It tells the story of a girl who was a dish washer for one of the royal people at that time. She was given 10 porcelain plates to look after, and was told that if anything happened to them she would be tortured or executed. One day, after completing her work, she goes to count the plates as she does everyday. One of the plates was shattered, and she didn't know who or what caused it. When they found out, she was tortured and killed. According to legends, her spirit still resides in that same palace, counting the plates each night and giving a blood curdling scream when she can't find the 10th one

i think the counting is a reference to a japanese yokai. If someone can correct me, its something about a girl breaking a plate or something

The dish one counting plates is more funny and relatable than it is scary. Nobody likes the idea of Mom counting and finding dirty dishes you didn't wash properly

The 2nd one doesn't seem so scary, if you look at the big picture in a big time lapse you could potentially see it as never-ending kindness 😊

the third one is actually a yurei, (japanese ghost) her name is Okiku and she haunts wells (notorious places of haunting in japan) the way the story goes is that she was accused by her lover that she broke very expensive china which were ten plates in total but she broke 9 i think (she was a maid) and i believe she fell into the well and died

so the way she haunts is just counting to 9 every night (counting the plates) but breaks off before 10 (the plate she didn’t know) the way she was banished or “sent away” was by this dude shouting 10 at the well she was in after she said 9, this indicating she found the last plate
