Explanations:
1. He's been convinced that he never had a wife or family bc they abandoned him, probably bc of the reason he's in the psych ward

2. Everyone who went into the cave stayed down there and (maybe as a result) they all went nuts which is why they're dancing and singing; as the narrator describes, deliriously

3. The chess pieces represent his family members, meaning as he plays and gets rid of more pieces, he'll get rid of those family members as well( probably killed)

4. That is the flight of his career because he's crashing the plane and taking everyone onboard with him.

Explanations:-
1)The narrator has a wife but the people in the room are trying to convince him otherwise, and the reason of which is unknown. Nawh bro what kind of post-marriage friendzone is this.

2)There is something in that cave that caused those who enter it to turn insane, and as of result of which, start dancing deliriously. And that something is keeping them alive and not letting them die. You've heard of the closet monster, now it's time to meet the cave monster.

3)Each chess piece is named after a family member, and therefore, whichever piece gets captured by the opposing side is likely going to be killed. And the narrator, when the King is checkmated. This is what happens when you don't take Stockfish's Chess lessons.

4)This is the last flight of not only him but likely everyone else on the plane too. Reason? He's crashing the plane. Reminds me of my dear uncle whose plane crashed in the twin towers.
