Quest Q40, Nokta Makro Simplex, Minelab Equinox and Minelab X-terra 705 Vs strong EMI Cellular Towers in Las Vegas Park. Which Metal detectors handle the Interference better??

The Q30-Q40 have great features but depth on small coins is limited to 8 inches, at greater depths all you hear are those buzzing distorted sounds lol. I purchased the Quest X10 Pro and love it, even with the smaller 9 1/2 inch DD coil the depth characteristics and recovery speed are very similar to my Simplex+ with 11 inch DD coil, amazing machine!.

Also something to consider is that both the quest and equinox had larger coils which acts like big antennas attracting more emi

Hey just a bit of trivia the old minelab SD and GP Series of gold detectors were analogue and the GPX Series and GPZ are digital. When it comes to EMI the analogue series run so much better then the digital. I had a GP extreme and my mate had a GPX 4000 and a storm was heading towards us. My detector was rock solid stable and his was going berserk! So yea there you go.

I have the Nox 800 . Thats got the advanced settings . It gave me a lot of noise on a dig once when under pylons . I put it into 19 or 15 khts and it was stable .
Oh, that Terra . I do wish i had a need for one and wish it was properly upgraded to a Mk 2 .

Have you tried a snap on emi filter? You can get 2 for 14.00$ they are used on a lot of electronic equipment to protect signal interference. Look around and you will find it! It worked on mine! I can snap it on no emi take it off and I get interference. Tested it it works in some situations.

Just ordered the simplex, so glad it did well. Was searching for a 705 but could not find a good deal on one, , yeah I would take 705 over the noxes, especially if you have mars tiger coil on it. To bad thier discontinued, they should reissue them, , emi is not going to get any better.

I wonder how the Equinox 800 would do at that park. You can manually change noise channels on the 800; maybe that would help.

I also wonder how the Vanquish 540 would do in that EMI. Do you still have the 540?

I knew it was the machine, and why I went off on that idiot blaming you on the last video. Not saying if it is broken or how it works now I was just saying that for where you detect to get rid of it, and this confirms it. The other thread is gone but I hate it when some idiot blames the user instead of the machine. No damn PEBKAC will I tolerate when I know machines that are chatty like it is PLUS the user has shown (which you have on countless vids) they are competent enough to know what is going on.
