I use both the Nox and the Deus in a local park with loads of modern trash. With the Nox if you notch out everything below 8 it sorts out most of the tin foil . You may loose some fine gold chains and ear rings though.
And if you are hunting in multy and cross reference with 10khz on a target and the numbers jump up a lot it is normally always iron

The jumping around with the tones is multiple objects laying in the ground next to each other and it's picking up on both of them

Lol 😆. Joey, you have to learn that NOX all over again for tones and numbers and of course the non ergonomic feel swinging it...Great pinpointing and digging procedures..You showed the viewers you don't need a backhoe digging a bomb crater to dig a small coin while mostly being un noticed by others enjoying the park.

Hey brother, I do appreciate your ethics in our hobby! I wish everyone would be as courteous as you are. In the past, I've been out with some real knuckleheads who have no respect for property. It makes me furious and needless to say, I never went detecting with these people again. Sorry your nox is giving you crap. The first thing I did when I got mine was to replace the shaft and cuff with a Detect-Ed. 2 years and going strong. I know that I shouldn't have had to do that but there's usually a weakness with most new products that needs attention.
Thanks for all you do brother. Stay safe!
PS.. When your nox is giving you a lot of different numbers, bouncing around like crazy, it's usually one of two things. There's something good in the hole right next to some garbage, or it's just various pieces of garbage. For me, I find that it's usually a 50/50 chance there’s something good with a little trash.

Great point on the target VDIs on multi frequency machines! I've got the D2 ordered but honestly have me looking into VDI stability. I enjoy hunting by sound like paystreak does with his D1. Wonder if the unstable VDI has something to do with it?.... hmm. The deus having full tones is what interests me most about it. I'll have to give a closer look on its VDI stability. Thanks Joey!

Steve's detector rods... but only if you want to keep the nox. I am thinking now that I'm glad that I went with the Vanquish 540 first. It doesn't seem to be much different and was a lot less. My next machine will either be a Legend "if it really is any good" or back to a single frequency machine like the Simplex.

Not sure if you want to throw more money at your nox, but I bought the Detect-Ed's carbon red belly upper shaft and Detect-Ed's aluminum arm cuff for my 600 and their quality is top notch. No wobble and built very well.

Can you make the Nox a single frequency detector or are stuck using multi? Good informational video for us that hunt in similar areas. Thanks Joey

I replaced my arm cuff on my Nox 600 with the Detect Ed aluminum oxide cuff, because I broke two of the plastic Minelab cuffs. No more broken arm cuff. My Nox 600 has performed really well and has found me many a rings/jewelry and old silver/clad coins. I would buy another one. Yeah I think you need to relearn your machine

The Nox is good! Just remember to go for solid tones.. The good targets won't have any scratchy tone or change in sound range...

My 800 was running really iffy when I first got it I had to factory preset it and make sure it had the latest firmware installed correctly. After it was falsing way less

Does the Nox buttons light up with the screen like Simplex?
I noticed the Legend has lots of tiny black buttons that don't light up, that would be a pain after dark, a mistake in my opinion, I'm not going to buy it like that

Nice hunt, Joey. The ‘Nox is kind of “flute” sounding, and it does make lots of noises in the trashy spots. Like any other machine, once you get enough hours with it, you can kinda tell what is good and what is trash. It is sensitive and can go deep, but you probably don’t really need deep where you hunt. Maybe you can replace your broken cuff with a Detect-Ed metal cuff, or a Garrett AT cuff from Serious Detecting. My son put a Detect-Ed cuff on his ‘Nox. Keep Digging, bro.

Be gone with the R2D2 nox. I did and I just don't miss it. I bought it used with three coils. Sold it used with one coil. Been riding the Simplex.
