I have been using my equinox 88 for almost 3 years and have only had emi trouble a couple of times. I just switched to 10 or 15 hz and it was fine. The equinox is the most versatile detector out there right now and is excellent in every condition I have encountered.

Hey paystreak. Love the channel. There is one use for the noise cancel that really does work. I use the trx pinpointer mostly and occasionally when the nox chooses a channel that interferes badly with the pinpointer and becomes terribly chatty when you turn on the pinpointer. So if that happens you turn the pinpointer back on and noise cancel with the coil pointed right at the pinpointer and it’ll clear it right up. At least it does for me.

Simplex, seems Like a good detector. I can understand why so many people purchase that machine. I am Deus person, but Simplex would not be bad purchase for the price.

I have only encountered two spots where emi shut down Simplex. You just don't want to run in full gain! It's unstable there. My 30 year old Whites Silver eagle will be unstable if I deviate from the stock program and crank it up. Simplex, park two, one bar down, Simplex works great.:)

EMI was never an issue with coaxial coils they did not pick up from the top or the sides. You could hunt next to a chain link fence with no problem.

Sounds like my Vanquish. A Whites Spectrum behaved the same way in a trashy yard...beep beep beep squawk and I think a lot of it was EMI. I`m not complaining...just don`t know how to use those detectors and was overwhelmed with signals and a misunderstanding of how they function. I`m used to very simple single freq machines. I guess the Vanquish will be a good machine to take to the woods or old fields and gardens.

I have noticed that my NOX 600 can get noisier after noise cancelling. I to have thought about not using it anymore. BTW, I had left a comment in your other vid, myers metal detecting out of Tampa FL will have 5 extra 10 x 5 Coilt teks for the NOX. He said Tuesday. Nice vid J

OK I must comment. Just because the Nox is Multi... it also runs in single freq. ...which you know well. I feel that you should have compaired apples to apples by using the nox in single freq. for your test. BUT.... who am I... your machines... your testing... AND does the coil size matter in a test like this?? other than that... good video.

Alright Jeremy..Damn you! I am not a fan of noisy machines and EMI.. Now im lusting for an XP.. Is the ORX worth buying? Its known as the "Poor mans Deus".. - Also The simplex in EMI makes that scrachy/static/buzzy noise but it doesn't sound like a target. A target audio pops through and Simplex will still get you through . The Nox "Turkey on meth" Noise - Just forget it! Ill run over the damn thing with my car and kick it across the parking lot! -- Joey

Great vid, can you explain why multi frequency is better in salt water than a single frequency machine? My simplex seems to lose signals and or depth on wet sand. Deus 2 or Legend for saltwater?

So do you think buying a deus 1 would be a good choice at this time? If you were hundreds of miles from any saltwater, and you already have a simplex and equinox 800? And… you hunt old home sites on farms in indiana? I’m seriously thinking about it, tell me what you think man?
