There have been so many studies on protein intake with athletes, they all seem to out the optimal at around 1.5-2grams per kilogram of lean mass not weight. Excess protein is just converted to glucose and stored in the body as fat, not to mention protein is more expensive to buy, on a cut its likely you need closer to the 2g per kilo of lean mass, but the beat method to preserve muscle on a cut is just workout, there was a study when people even in a severe calorie defecit 1k a day, lost barely any muscle in 8weeks compared to those who didnt.

1gram of protein per pound of lean mass is plenty. Count your calories, protein (learn to love it), drink "at least" a quart of water for every 1, 000 calories you burn and make healthy choices 80% of the time. Weigh yourself first thing every morning and average everything at the end of the week. Try to average only losing/gaining 1lb per week. If you're over 200lbs keep gains and losses to 1% of your bodyweight. Every 8 to 10 weeks add 200 or 300 calories per day back into your diet. What you want to do is stay the same weight or gain around a pound to refeed because you've been in a deficit for around 2 months at this point. The healthier choices you make for the extra calories the better, of course, but I eat all the things I haven't been able to, candy, pies, donuts, cereal-icecream-milk-protein powder concoctions, all that. My week starts next Monday! You're still counting everything though, still the same protein, and nothing gets out of hand. After that week go back to your regular plan. Continue this until you reach your desired weight, adjusting caloric intake as you go. The lighter you become the less calories your body needs to stay the same weight. Don't change after only 1 week of not seeing the losses, wait at least 2, especially at the beginning when you will lose several pounds the first week. I've had weeks where I'll lose very little and maybe even slightly gain and the very next day be 2lbs lighter and the weight stays off. Do this and you will be able to gain and lose weight at will, for the rest of your life without any crazy diets or weight loss fads.

It’s amazes me that after all the years you’ve been at this YouTube gig (since it first started basically) that your subs are not in the millions. Which I believe you’ve always deserved my bro. Lots of people hate is all I can say.

Never thought of using my body weight to count how many calories to eat..

dude simplest way to increase calories is to add 2-300 calories above maintenance. It’s that easy. An apple watch calculates your maintenance calories, all you do is add 2-300 on that number and bam, ur done.

Acctually so simple but the best dietary advice I’ve heard 😂 I might have to do this. I’m currently cutting after a long dirty bulk and don’t want any excess fat covering the abs no more
