That happened to my momma and the numbness was indeed permanent in her case.
It could happen to me, too, because I have the same curvy roots she had.
If you're in our situation, ask about doing a coronectomy (removing the crown of the tooth but leaving the roots to minimize nerve damage).

I had all those wisdom teeth out 10 years ago and now some of my molar teeth gets gapped with the following tooth and makes every food I eat become stuck in between and sometimes it causes pain.
Talking about nerve on the jaw, I didnt experience numbness, but more like recurrent sensation of tired and burnt inner cheek muscle. It lasted until around 3-4 years after the removal.

Why are certain surgeons saying it’s mostly not permanent? They say the nerve regenerates slowly and you could heal in 6 months to a year.

Just had 2 wisdom teeth removals on one side and while I have no pain anymore and the stitches are gone I still have trouble with yawning with my mouth all the way open 😢

My wisdomtooth on my upper jaw was extracted 10 days ago, but half of my jaw on the right side (tongue, lips, etc) are still numb, and it's impacting my speech. Can this also be possible for the upper jaw?

I extracted my bottom right wisdom tooth 4 days ago, and I feel numb in the -right side- half of my lower lip and chin ...which is irritating! I hope it's not permanent otherwise Imma 💀💀
