That’s probably the drawer that has all the keys that came with the house, she probably used all the other keys already so the one that is weird and that hasn’t been used is probably the one for the little door. She literally looked confused when she looked at the key. Why would she do that if she’s secretly the Other Mother?

I have a theory. My theory is that when Coraline when she goes to ask her mom to go outside in the rain to the well, her real mom says no, and the reason that the mom said no will yes it was raining but the mom is the same mom, what if when they got into the car accident what if the parents died and Coraline doesn’t remember bc she was in a car accident and they fake mom didn’t want her to realize that that wasn’t her mom because that’s where all of the souls that the other mother kept in the well, and the fake mom wanted Coraline to be her daughter, and I know that because there is a theory that the other mother daughter died, and the other mother realized that Coraline was just like her real daughter bc her really daughter like to explore
Just like Coraline so that why the other mother wanted Coraline to be her daughter but Coraline saw the three souls that the other mother took and Caroline thought she was going to do the same. This took really long so if you could like this comment I would really appreciate it! ❤ (Not Forced)

The Beldam is trapped in, or near the building, and she couldn't leave.

Also, I think the Grandma made the button key so she would know which key to never use.

Lastly, I think the Grandma rented to Coraline s parents because she thought the Beldam was gone, or lost her power.

Here’s a theory that I think: So u know when Coraline entered the other world for the first time she had a weird look on her face meaning that she knew it was real she knew what was gonna happen and the cat helped her on purpose just to make her think that she won even though the cat is on the other mothers side. because there’s no magic in the real world but the cat magically disappears T the ned……..!😮😢

I saw this theory that coraline's parents might be dead. Because the food rotates fast and her parents only talk to her. And the fact that her mom knew where the key was could mean that she wants Coraline to go to the other side and try to have a better life
