Oh the whole dress thing with the ghost child is a reference to the way rich people used to have servants raise children the governesses would dress all children in dresses because it was easier to efficiently clothe multiple young children that way... I think thats how that history lesson goes anyhow.

Actually, back in the 1800s, boys were often made to wear feminine clothing until they got older, because it was cheaper, I think. this had nothing to do with gender identity.

boys and girls both worse dresses until they were teens, this continued up until the end victorian era, the part about the boy wearing dresses is a clue as to when he lived.

I like the detail of making the door smaller, like it’s only meant for *children* to enter

"Coraline" is a dark and eerie tale that was originally written by Neil Gaiman and published in 2002. The story follows a young girl named Coraline who discovers a mysterious parallel world behind a hidden door in her new home.

However, the origins of "Coraline" are even more disturbing than the story itself. Gaiman has stated in interviews that the inspiration for the story came from his own experiences as a father. He was once in a park with his daughter when she suddenly disappeared from his sight. The panic and fear he felt in that moment sparked the idea for a story about a child who goes missing.

Furthermore, Gaiman has also revealed that he was also influenced by the works of the Brothers Grimm and other fairy tales with dark and sinister undertones. He wanted to create a modern fairy tale that would captivate and unsettle readers.

The combination of these personal experiences and literary influences resulted in the creation of "Coraline", a story that has captivated readers and viewers with its creepy atmosphere and complex themes. The terrifying origins of the story only add to its appeal and leave audiences questioning the boundaries between reality and fantasy.

The dress thing is because he comes from a different time period back when children were dressed differently based on status

Please don't force the Transtopic into everything!
Just because you don't know or understand something doesn't mean the explaination is "It's a Trans!"

Now that I know more about all 3, I’m going with the movie. The other two don’t sound nearly as interesting.

In the movie, where Wybie shows up to save Cora, he does mention right after that he changed his mind about her because of his gran AND came to the well because a friend told him to. He means the cat, the cat helped him. So its not that weird hes there and Im so glad they created his character specifically for the movie, WB is such a mood❤‍🩹

It's entertaining to watch these fan theory videos, but I just believe what I see in the movie. How awful would it be if it clearly showed that coraline would be the next beldam 🙄
