My tips

1) Embace hunger! Make the psychological shift of realizing that hunger indicates the diet is working! Once you realize that hunger = fat burning it will be mentally easier to cope the temptation because it means you are nearing your goal

2) Dopamine detox. Avoiding ADHD activities like instagram, TikTok and YouTube will train your brain to not constantly craze stimulation. Ive found that when Im disciplined in my screen time and cell phone usage Im mentally less distracted and less likely to cheat.

3) Brain power! When youre really hungry your brain is also working the best. Its a great opportunity to perform difficult task or get into a good work groove

Going cold turkey on junk and living off whole foods alone cured my cravings. Haven’t had a cheat meal since July last year and haven’t wanted one.

I've never really thought of potatoes being super filling but when I think about it, I eat them all the time and yeah, definitely helps! The shirmp boils we make with shrimp, red potatoes and a lean turkey sausage is SO filling (and delicious)

Green tea/matcha tea helps a lot reducing hunger. Also cauliflower rice/shirataki rice, you get practically no carbs and it keeps you full.

I love eating cooled plain yukon gold potatoes. They're so filling. So much fiber, resistant starch, and a little bit of protein too.

One thing ive noticed is if im following a high carb low fat approach cravings can be met very easily. Instead of cake you can have some jam or marmalade on a piece of toast or low fat rice pudding! virtually no fat in that but the fruit and sugar will get rid of that craving and you will have eaten far less calories . For savory you can have flavoured rice cakes etc or popcorn. If your on a low carb diet the cravings for savory and sweet things just become unbareable eventually.

My body responds so well to tossing in several protein+fiber shakes throughout the day - mostly plant based. Processed carb cravings get cleansed from the subconscious. Hitting about 0.7-1g a lb seems reasonable for fat loss, even without crazy weight lifting, maybe 30min+ a day - great variety of effort, good 30min run too.
6:44 Yes! Same experience - hunger instantly gone for hours, snack cravings also eliminated.
Meat is enjoyable for a meal but the plant-based really does seem to tackle hunger "faster" and more efficient with digestion too.

Hi Paul, another great video. I am noticing the more body fat I lose, the harder and longer it takes to get lean. It's much easier going from say 30% - 20% body fat than it is to go from 20% down to 10%. I will get there.

Hey Paul I have really learned a lot from you! Thanks. I'm a year out from an emergent surgery that left me with a colostomy bag. My diet before was a high protien low carb attempt at a Paleo. It was difficult to maintain as finding variety is difficult. Now with the colostomy my dieticians are telling me that I need to incorporate a few more carbs into my diet (as in a full serving of complex carbs i.e. potatoes without the skin, brown rice, etc. per meal.) This is truly alien to me, and I never thought I could reach my goal weight by ADDING carbs. I have started walking like you showed and tracking my intake, and I have lost eight pounds in the last month. Baby steps, but I didn't gain it overnight either. It is refreshing too see that I don't have to starve to lose, just cut back. and I think doing it this way I will be able to keep it off. Only 92 more pounds to rech my goal! lol Having said all of this I was going to give you a tip that I learned (that you may already know). Instead of boiling the potatoes, I will put my potatoes in a ziplock bag, with the zipper left open about an inch, then put them in the microwave and allow the natural "juice" of the potato to steam it. For a normal size whole potato its about 5 minutes on high depending on microwave and potato size. This saves lots of time because now you dont have too wait on the water to boil, and then potatoes to cook. Thanks again!

Great vid! Although I think we need to prepare ourselves to suffer a little bit, particularly if we want to loose weight. If there was no suffering involved, everyone would have a 6-pack.

Air popped popcorn with black pepper is my go to.

Good point about dehydration. I never feel thirsty and have had to learn to drink when I don’t feel like it just to get a basic amount of water. I’m probably interpreting thirst as hunger. Flavored drinks like fruit tea, coffee, or zero/low calorie lemonade helps a lot.

Greek yogurt with some toppings like cereal, choc chips, or frozen fruit is another good one. Helps with the protein too

The road map to 10 percent is there and it's easy and straight forward. It's the behovior change, implementing the habits and removing bad habits that's key. That's what you seem to have mastered. James Clear's book "Atomic Habits" is an attempt to describe your discipline Paul. :) Your an incredible inspiration. Thank you.
