You guys don’t understand percentages. Fat was in debt to Ronnie which explains why he was -2%

Sean being a light of truth and reason in an industry chock-full of juicers and peddlers, needs more recognition.
Thank you, Sean.

Sean's right. Bodyfat percentages don't mean shit and once you've cut down to true single-digit bodyfat a few times and experienced the misery that comes along with it you realize that enjoying dietary freedom, getting off instagram/social media and not stressing out over it is a much better way to live your life.

From what I learned and experienced after cutting down to 12 % bodyfat for a bodybuilding magazine is that there is a lot of mental discipline on restrictions of certain foods. Very low salt, very low sugar intake, very low fat intake depleted my energy levels especially since I have a fast metabolism. I felt very low and weak. It was hard to get enough protein because all the high protein foods available for me had exceeded my calories intake. My strength was in the grave. I was inexperienced to the ways of getting shredded for bodybuilding. After placing 12th /50 in the bodybuilding contest I was in at that time, I learned that my feel good zone was between 16-18 percent bodyfat because it gives me a chance to maintain and recomp after bulking up to 24 % body fat. I went from 123 lbs bulking to 162 and now I'm maintaining my gains at 150 lbs, hoping to bulk in the next month. I also switched from only bodybuilding styles of training to a mix of bodybuilding and powerlifting prioritizing the three big lifts -bench, squat, deadlift.

Can relate. A few months ago, at the beginning of a cut I was thinking I was around 20%. Got a DEXA and was 25%. Didn't believe it so got a 2nd DEXA at a different place that uses a different machine. 26%. Lol.

US navy bodyfat calculator is surprisingly accurate. I measured my body fat using one of those fance scales and compared using a Bodyfat calculator and both numbers were practically the same.

Exactly. That's it I have nothing else to add 💪🏽

My theory is that a layperson doesn't understand that 0% bodyfat is impossible to achieve. The lowest level of bodyfat percentage one can survive with is just about 3% so adding 3-5% to their assumption makes sense to make up for that discrepancy.

I got to a caliper measured 10% once and still didn’t have a six pack because the internet told me I didn’t need to train abs. I have more visible abs at 15% now. Being 10% is a hunger I don’t wish on anyone. I was so hungry I stopped being picky like I used to be 😂

For reference, i’m probably 12-14% in this picture. When someone tells you they’re 8% or below that - do they look ready to step on a bodybuilding stage? If not they’re either lying to you or to themselves. 8% is ridiculously shredded. I have a hard time putting on fat and i can’t go below 8% for an extended amount of time. You’re most likely gonna feel terrible below that.

I used to be 6% at ~16st, 6'1" at my best naturally. And that was a ridiculous level to maintain for around 3-4 weeks after 3 months of bulk/building where body fat would get up to around 18% at a high and 6-8 weeks cutting. Really rough going and full time dietary and training commitment. Currently around 30%+ body fat at 18.5st and overweight but considerably happier with far less obsession 😂

Inaccurate BIA machines don't help. The one at my gym said 10%, which I could see was wrong in the mirror, so I got a dexa scan which showed 17.5%. Both have an error of course but the dexa is far more accurate. The issue is that the least accurate methods are the cheapest and thus most accessible.

Gonna be joining the gym tomorrow after a year of being out of it because of various personal problems. Couldn't be more excited! 😊
