I found you a few weeks ago and I think you are the real deal because you present science backed facts and unadulterated truth. I so appreciate that. I decided to focus on strengthening my whole body the RIGHT way at the beginning of this year. You present information that is so hard to find without paying boat load of money. Thanks for being so generous.

The idea of working out until I felt like dying - whether it was weights or cardio - really put me off exercise for a long time. I bet there's others who feel that way too. I'm so glad you addressed sleep, this is a huge issue for me at the moment. Thank you for consistently spreading sensible, evidence-based information and dispelling nonsense, I really appreciate your channel!

Really appreciated the focus on micro as well as macro nutrients for health and wellbeing, tracking helps you do both- so you nourish the body you’re training 😊

This is exactly what I needed to hear, just turn 40 and started gaining weight and I am not pregnant, so I feel like I am in a crisis as my body isn’t use to the weight, I started eating less and working out more and still gain weight 😢, so this video is an eye opener

Excellent video. I think the key is in what actually happens with eating more = an eventual energy deficit at the same intake due to normalized and upregulated body processes that were downregulated from an excessive calorie deficit. So, the end result is in fact an energy deficit. But it takes an uncomfortable interim period of trusting the process as the body revs its engine again.

About a year after I had first started working out seriously, I lost a ton of weight just by working out more and cutting calories. When I hit a weight loss plateau I just did what worked before and kept cutting. Eventually I hit a point where I was thinner but not where I wanted to be, especially because I did practically nothing but cardio and didn't have a lot of muscle. Then I heard a radio interview about high school athletes cutting calories too much to lose weight. I had a moment of realization when they talked to a 17 year old softball player who worked out about the same as me, and told her that at her height and activity level she should be eating around 3500 calories a day. Meanwhile I, a 30 year old male at 5'11" and 170 pounds, was eating 1200 calories per day. And of course around this time I was wondering about why my performance was going down and why I was getting too tired to finish workouts.

Thank you for this, I've been feeling really awful about myself as I've gained so much weight but am struggling to lose it. I've always lost cutting my calories to under 600, but this time I've only lost 1lb in 6 weeks. I thought I must have ruined my metabolism from doing that so often in the past.
