Welcome to our third Unity tutorial on Shader Graph. If you are a beginner to unity, or just new to shaders and Shader Graph, this is the perfect tutorial series to get familiar with this super tool.

In this episode, we will be covering three new nodes, Multiply, UV & Texture nodes. These three nodes are major building blocks for future shaders.

If you have any questions, or requests for further tutorials, comment below and I will respond ASAP.

Another great shader video. A couple of points:

1. I find it easier to grasp new concepts if I know when to call on it to solve a solution. Eg. When is a real world situation where you'd use a UV node? (I'm actually curious about the answer to this one). Is it when you want to target a specific axis of a texture? Perhaps you want to make an effect that fades in from the top?

2. In this Shader Graph series it might be worth playing with your layout. I can't make out the node labels at the resolution, zoom level and window size is in this video. You could either move the Inspector, Project, Hierarchy, Console windows to the same tab group, or fullscreen the Shader Graph tab when you're working in it (is it shift-space or something?). Similar concept to increasing your text size when programming, it makes life a whole lot easier if we can pause at any moment and read what's on the screen without difficulty.

Thanks again, can't wait to see more of these from you!

Oh, and great work with the challenge at the end, that was a nice touch.

Nice tutorial. Thank you but 720p is too low to see the texts.

Hey! Really well explained and well paced tutorial! Some feedback that would improve things a lot for me:
1. With the 720p quality of the video, and the small window, i can't see the text on any of the nodes in shadergraph. This makes my eye hurt since i instinctively try to read it anyways, and it makes it really hard to quickly go back and find stuff in these tutorials without listening to the whole thing from beginning to end.
2. The background music for 10 min straight gets really annoying. At most like a third of people will like it since everyone likes different music, and if its quiet i can put something myself in the background. Now Im forced to listen to this.

I have one question for you.
I have a shader that I wrote in the built-in pipeline that uses a single RGB mask to map 3 different diffuse, metallic, smoothness and normal textures to a single material. I'm trying to find out how to do that in shader graph.

Can I do that in shader graph with that split node?

If it is, i will take that up as a challenge for you.

For the love of a god if someone can help me, all i want is for the uv system to work like it does in blender, i want to get a node which is the equivalent to the "TEXTURE COORDINATE NODE" in blender i made a uv map and i though the object would have the uv map with in it in blender, i thought the uv node would when plugged into the sample 2d texture would use uv map to apply the texture... but, i when i plug the state sample, the texture and the uv0 into the sample 2d texture legit nothing happens the texture is shown again as it is, I've been at this for a while now.. :(
