Hey! I’m a Provisionist and didn’t even know there was such a thing! My favorite Bible teacher, Chuck Missler (rest in peace Dr. Missler), was fond of saying, “No one is in hell for their sin. Everyone in hell is there because they refused to accept God’s 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒗𝒊𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 for their sin.” This was a long time before the label “Provisionist” was created (I think). I’m curious if there is a summary of how Provisionists interpret the Calvinist’s favorite passages used as their authority on Limited Atonement?

This is actually fairly similar to Catholicism. We have a doctrine of "universal salvific will, " where God wants to save all and one of "sufficient grace, " where he provides each of us the grace necessary to make that happen. Arminius and Wesley were accused of being crypto-Catholics, and provisionism has a lot of similarities to Arminianism, so I guess it makes sense.

He is the Savior of all men (1Tim 4:10). If you do a Calvigesis and read that as "savior of all men who are elected", you might as well read that as "savior of all men, and not women and children".

He is the propitiation of our sins AND those of the whole world (1Jn 2:2). Jesus paid for the sins of unbelievers; what sends them to the fire isn't Jesus not paying for their sins, but their unbelief (Jn 3:36). Checkmate, Calvinists.

HINT: the word "Hell" is not in the original languages of the bible. When you realize that death is inevitable, death is eternal and eternal torture is a greek concept, not a biblical one, then you understand that the gift of everlasting life is absolutely God's choice of who is or isnt in His family. "And this is the will of Him that sent Me: that every one who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life."

The will of the Father is that those who see the Son and believe are saved.

God provides what, exactly? There can be no doubt Biblically that God gives more grace to some than to others. Does He provide enough knowledge to all so they can be saved? Where does the Bible teach this?

Reformed view would be that God provides for every soul.
Every soul then rejects.
The Spirit helps some to see the things of God, as they couldn’t in their natural state.

A little difference yes, but still worth mentioning, so it’s treated fairly.

Calvinism is twisted and arrogant. It makes God the author of evil. Otherwise, why would anyone sin if they didn't have free will?
