LOWER BACK PAIN - WHY CAN'T I STAND UP STRAIGHT?

It is a very common, but no less painful and infuriating, problem associated with lower back pain.

But what makes it happen?

What can be done to relieve the pain and fix the underlying problem?

I look at what causes the issue and give you two exercises to help.

The first will help with reducing pain and soreness so that you can move again.

The second will help to fix the underlying issue and lay the foundation for a stronger, more robust and pain free lower back.

Thanks. You helped this 76 year old man.I seen 3 Dr.'s 3 Therapist and countless you tube Therapist and after 4 to 5 years my back, hips feel great. I finally slept 8hrs without pain.I rolled over in the bed and didn't feel sharp pains that always woke me up. After watching your video and doing your exact routine I was amazed of my body response. Thanks again.

Everything you mention is exactly what I'm going through. I can't stand up straight, Very unstable and in constant pain in the areas you mentioned. I'm just 61 and people older than myself walk better than I do. Thank You so very much. You have saved me a lot of money from having to go to physical therapy that my insurance won't cover.

Omgoodness!I'm so grateful for this information you have shared, TY!straight off from the first exercise I did my right leg, as I was getting on the floor I had terrible pinching, so as I exchanged legs I I could ALREADY feel relief, its beenmonths since I could stand without being pinched over forward or even at times to my side looking all awkward j ur st trying to get my posture back.even on short walks I have to lift my hands above my head in effort to look vertical but the pain to, &I walk dogs, its been hell truly, there is no way to do this Safely while a person is experiencing back pain.i haven't been camping in 4 years, outdoors is everything to my spirit, so TY, you have made a beautiful difference in my life, much l9ve, Buffy

Here after an L5-S1 herniation having spent 2 days in hospital. Still on morphine.

This is the first video that understands that I cannot lie flat, let alone begin arching my back backwards.

Thanks dude.

I've always had back ache due to my construction job and training. But as I've gotten older my lower back seems to lock up a lot more.
I've see osteopaths, chiropractors, masseuses.. I do try to stretch out and I use a foam roller too. But I just did the quad roll you showed there, with the hamstring curl movement. It's released my lower back a fair bit!

This is incredible. My back went “out” a couple of days ago and I was hunched over and couldn’t stand straight. Three days later and I feel like I’m healing incredibly. The last time this happened my back was out for weeks and none of the PTs, Chiros, or doctors I saw helped at all!!!

Same here, properly did something to my back while exercising (wrongly) and the first bit immediately unlocked something and got me standing straight again. Thanks!

I feel like my glutes are flexed so hard and my hip flexors are pulled so tight, almost as bad as the back pain itself

Great video - I injured my back a week ago doing deadlifts and power cleans during a workout. I could not stand straight and was in extreme pain with my lower back. I followed the exercises and incorporated Stuart McGills big 3. In a week I was able to get back into training with scaled workouts. Thank you very much for posting the video 👍

This was a lifesaver. Ive been on the sofa on my back for 2 days in agony with back spasms. This afternoon I seriously considered pissing myself on the sofa as I couldn't get my head round the pain of getting upstairs to the toilet. In the end I managed to get to the kitchen sink in time.

The pain is down the right side of my lower back and rolling on the right thigh started to free it off pretty quickly.

I think I can possibly stand up long enough to cook something now. Ive not been able to eat anything other than bits of fruit for 2 days.
Thank you.😂
When im fully mended ill do whatever is necessary exercise and stretching wise to ensure I dont get to go through this again.

Yooo thank you so much I was unable to stand yesterday and this helped tremendously. I was surprised at how hard it was to flex my knee at first with my quads against the roller and how much it burned but now I’m standing upright and feel stable literally after just a few sets. I’ll continue doing this to try and get back to 100%.

Brian, I was virtually incapacitated. Have lower back "issues " every few months. Yesterday was the absolute worst. I was in severe pain and couldn't Stand, sit or lie without pain. I did the exercises with my foam roller and found a positive effect almost immediately. I am still pretty stiff and limited range of motivation with a slight hunch over, but has improved with your wonderful video. I think mine is from long duration of sitting at work and a really really bad office chair that puts me in a bad posture etc... anyway, thanks so much for the info and exercises. Wishing you the best with your channel and practice!!! Thanks from Virginia in the USA.

Thankyou for this. I have been unable to stand straight for two days. I did this and am now standing vertically. I will continue to do this exercise daily. I can’t thank you enough.
