How To Fix VMware Workstation 12 'Take Ownership' Error [Tutorial]

In this brief tutorial, I show how to fix the following VMware Workstation error:

"This virtual machine appears to be in use, press the "Take Ownership" button to obtain ownership of it. Otherwise, press the "Cancel" button to avoid damaging it"

How To Troubleshoot VMware Error: "The Virtual Machine Is In Use By An Application"

Followed by the following error:
Could not open the virtual mahine
Taking ownership of this virtual machine failed"
The virtual machine is in use by an application on your host computer"

1) Close out of VMware Workstation
2) delete any .lck or .lock files and/or folders you see, in the directory of the problematic VM like shown in this video
3) Run VMWare Workstation

Thanks! Fixed me when this happened: I was in one of my VM's, and while I was in one of them, VMware crashed. It then said "Powered on" So I clicked on it and clicked on "Open" and I got the pop ups that were shown in the video. So thanks to you! ;)

Hey man, I know this is an old video, but it was the only one that helped me solve my relatively niche problem, so I was wondering if you knew had to solve a new problem I'm having. Basically, at some point, I used task manager to quit out of Vmware Player running Kali, and ever since then, my Kali says "no network connected" no matter what I do.
