How to Repair a VMware Workstation Virtual Disk

Показать описание
If you use VMware Workstation as your virtualization platform, you might have run into an issue or received an error message that says something similar to "the specified virtual disk needs repair". You might get this message when trying to defragment a virtual disk or during some other process.

To repair the virtual disk, you will need to navigate to the installation path of VMware Workstation which should be as follows assuming you used the defaults when installing Workstation.
C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware Workstation

Here is the command you will run after entering the path to your virtual disk.

Check out our book (VMware Workstation Made Easy) that is designed to take your virtualization skills to the next level!

Thanks. It worked for me however I did get the error reported by many users. I opened an admin ConEmu (CMD) or powershell/whatever which might be worth doing. When I had worked out and specified the paths it reported the SSLConfigLoad error and then repaired it successfully. Job done.

Hi I get an "SSLConfigLoad: Failed to load OpenSSL config file" which from the VMWare forums apparently shows the disk is ok. But I get the error in the log file that the dsk needs repair but initial error at power on is cannot find the file specified but the VMDK is there. I'm tearing my hair out any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
