Alexis Martinez, a skilled and experienced orca trainer, played an important role in the fascinating Orca Ocean show at Loro Parque in the Canary Islands. Working at the park since 2004, he focused primarily on the training and care of marine mammals, especially orcas. His passion and expertise made him indispensable to the success of the show.

But on December 24, 2009, as Alexis was preparing for a special Christmas show, a tragic event happened..

Orca's are also called KILLER WHALES and even with 4 known cases of them killing their trainers, I'm suprised these creatures are still being caputured and held in these parks.

They're NOT pets and they're NOT your show toys for your entertainment so when they treat them as such then don't be surprised when they end up getting pissed off and end up killing you, it's not like you can be shocked or surprised because you literally asked for it and had it coming.

Did anyone else see how tiny the tank was when they showed the underwater view? That beautiful orca was over 3 tons! How could he *possibly* have felt comfortable swimming in a circle like some living Nascar racer in a puny cracker box? The dorsal drop (the falling over of the dorsal fin) shows that he didn't have enough space to keep swimming far enough, for long enough to maintain its upright position, which swimming in the ocean would have done.

In addition, the parks lock up the whales in personal tanks at night where they are *seriously* confined. It was no accident. That whale wanted out and it didn't want to be some circus pony.
