On October 12, 2002, Audrey Mestre attempted to break the No Limits Freediving World Record by diving 564 feet on a single breath of air. A record that Tanya Streeter had established only a few weeks before on August 17, 2002.

I’ve seen this story on other channels and given the simple fact that he wouldn’t let anybody check the air tanks and the fact that the tank was empty means that he intentionally killed her. He knew with that setup that the most likely outcome would be her dying. Just go to other channels about diving and listen to people who are experts describe what happened

Husband killed her in my opinion. She was going to divorce him after completing the dive. He purposely switched things up from how they ordinarily operate that worked on other dives.

That man killed her. Pressuring her to do the dive he himself couldn't do. Creating his own association so he could skirt incredibly important safety rules. Refusing to let anyone check the equipment, refusing to have medical staff on the surface. Wish she had listened to her gut and never descended knowing that her diving team wasn't large enough.

So she was going to divorce him after the dive, he was adamant about not checking the return bag and the lack of support divers definitely makes one wonder.

She was killed by ego and mismanagement. The only reason Pepine could have had for setting up his own diving organization was to set his own rules. Then the arrogant SOB decided to use new equipment, ignore both safety checks and safety divers, he sent her to her death. He was liable as he was in charge, but the law has not caught up with the technology like in the OceanGate disaster,

He may have known she was considering divorce. He was careless and unconcerned with several safe aspects of the dive, almost like he didn’t care. Wonder if he had a life insurance policy on her. May she Rest In Peace. 🙏🏻

It was murder, equipment tampered hence he did not want anyone else to check it which should be done by 2 professionals. Plus his ego was about to be crashed as she broke his record

Hearing about this remind me of the CEO of the submarine, the disregard of safety and rules. But also, the this is so strange. The husband disregard of safety was strange. Wonder why.

She was in a domestic abuse relationship and was killed by pepin & i know people in the free diving scene (who are close to recordholders) and i can guarantee you, EVERYONE knows he did it.. maybe cuz he wanted to be the hero, but i think he just wanted her dead, since she was planning on leaving him
