P.S. Guys, this isn't part of the sponsorship deal talking points or anything, but Re: the KiwiCo boxes, my brother said “The 3+ box kept [2 1/2 yo nephew] entertained for two hours while [niece] was at a birthday party." Can't think of a better review than that.

I like that these topics are presented in a format I can understand: Simpsons references.

Apparently, they meant to title the video as "The many complex reasons you're always tired"

This is my third time going into a no-carb, no-sugar diet, and the biggest reason I'm doing it is because I love all the extra energy I have. I sleep better, I have better digestion, more energy, and I steadily lose weight.

It's weird how everyone's body works so differently. I avoided caffeine most of my life because I never wanted to be dependant on it and I always had such high levels of energy throughout the day. But turns out, even when I drink coffee or an energy drink I rarely ever feel more alert. Like I'm caffeine resistant or maybe just have a higher tolerance.

Maybe it's not true for everyone but zero carb and zero sugar made me realize the fog I was living in before...

If I find myself getting drowsy and losing steam around midday, I sometimes take a quick power nap. You don't even have to fall asleep - just resting with my eyes closed for 10-15 minutes will give me a boost in energy. Just make sure you set an alarm so you don't overdo it. If you nap too long, you'll wake up still feeling tired instead of refreshed

Laughing stimulates alertness hormone adrenaline. That's why being a teacher I keep that in mind whenever my lecture gets booring I crack a joke and it makes a big difference in postures of my pupils 😂

I've observed this in myself. When I take a break from intermittent fasting and eat whatever I want whenever I want (especially carbs), I feel more tired throughout the day

Staying hydrated also helps stay alert. So easy to overlook when you're in constant rush nowadays.

I really did not expect this video to explain why I had so much energy and alertness during my eating disorder days.

I've found taking 5 minutes to stretch once or twice throughout the day really helps me stay awake. Even if I don't feel sore from a recent workout or anything, it's amazing how tight my legs, chest and back can get.

Could you do a “Day of eating” video, I’d be quite interested to see which foods you have made a staple in your diet especially if Keto

"Breakfast is the most important meal of the day" is a slogan, but it doesn't say when it should occur or what it should consist of! I have been skipping "breakfast" regularly since I was allowed to do so. Eating early in the day usually made me feel sluggish, even nauseated. Since I have pretty much quit this habit, I have never regretted it, but still enjoy my "breakfast" nights, where I eat traditional breakfast foods after work. I usually don't get hungry until about 11 a.m. and sometimes feel tired after lunch. I will see what lowering my carb intake can do to offset this.

Also, I've noticed that whenever I eat rice or pasta or any carbs for that matter, I really get so sleepy and tired.

My pattern when I hold myself to it is
1. Wake up around equatorial sunrise of my longitude (I live at 45 N so this means well before the sun is up in December and long after it's up in June). I have a sun lamp set on a timer to help with this that lights up my room as if I had an east facing large window.
2. Go for a morning run. The colder it is the faster I have to run to stay warm.
3. Quick calisthenics and meditation
4. Shower, starting warm and progressively getting colder until it's so cold I'm focusing on embracing the cold instead of reaching for the valve.
5. Protein and fat based light breakfast, typically eggs. (sometimes caffeine, no more than three days a week)
6. Go about my daily activities outside or near a sunlit window as much as possible.
7. 20 minute nap in the early afternoon, on my lunch break if I'm working a 9-5.
8. More time in or near the sun if possible. I put my desk near a large south facing window for example.
9. Carb heavy dinner, my main meal, around equatorial sunset.
10. Sleepytime tea a little before bed as well as no blue light and minimal room lighting after dinner.
11. Another round of meditation.
12. At around 9:30 solar time (time zones can be weird, man) sleep in a cool room, I'll crack the window in cold months or just set my AC as low as economically possible in warm months.

Cold showers, looking at sunlight in the morning, being outside, meditation, and breathing exercises are other things that keep me alert

This video has made a genuine impact on my life. Changing my diet in the morning to one entirely fat/protein based has stopped me crashing for the 3 weeks this videos been out. By the time I get to lunch time where I have carbs again, I have enough momentum from the morning that my drive still don't falter. My energy levels are through the roof. Thank you 'What I've Learned'!

As a person with low blood pressure, this is why we're recommended a low carb diet, as we already tend to suffer from low energy/feeling sluggish. Also, our blood pressure getting low enough will literally cause some of us (me) to crash (faint aka syncope.)

Edit to add that we're also encouraged to get plenty of water and to add salt and caffeine to our diet. So now I'm wondering if there's a connection to orexin and low blood pressure. As a bonus, we're also recommended to get plenty of b12 and b9 (folate, ) so maybe check to see if there's any studies that show whether those two help boost orexin? Lastly, we're told to limit our alcohol as it can be dehydrating.
