10 Easy Progressions to help you do a PULL-UP!

Here are 10 easy progressions to help you learn how to do the pull-up! These can be done either if you're trying to learn the pull-up for the first time, or if you're trying to practice the technique to really master the move. I recommend starting at the one that challenges you the most, but you can still perform correctly. Once you can do 10 clean reps of that progression, move on to the next!

Here are the progressions:
1. Wall pull-up
2. Chest height (high) inverted rows
3. Hip height (low) inverted rows
4. Hip height (low) elevated inverted rows
5. Scapular pull-up
6. Chair assisted pull-up
7. Jumping pull-up
8. Negative pull-up
9. Banded pull-up
10. FULL PULL-UP!

Try it out and let me know how it goes! #Shorts #Gym

The chair assisted pull up was exactly what I needed to progress, and I never thought about using it to do pull ups, that's amazing

No douchy YouTuber intro, straight to the point informative content with clear demonstrations unlike other fitness channels making 10 minute videos of things people already know. Excellent job 👍

AMAZING VIDEO!!

Very clear instructions. Even with me having any of the equipment i need the style of this video is WAYYY BETTER than any instructional progression video I’ve ever seen

i didn’t know there were that many progression steps

for me when i started and i couldn’t do any pull-ups. each week i just kept trying to do pull-ups and i eventually was able to do one clean one. then as i kept going it just built from there

i’ve been bodybuilding for about 1.5 years now (i am 16 years old) and i can do about 8-12 pull-ups normally. most i’ve ever done is 15

Thank you. so much! I just got a pull up bar and I couldn't do a full one and struggled getting half way. Now I might have the ability to do one in a week or so

I personally started with a elastic around my legs. I now do 15 with ease.

Jump pull ups helped a lot. Literally couldnt move up an inch unless i jumped, then i was able to do 5 consecutively. Did this with negative pullups and hanged a lot as well. When I got comfortable with this and could do way more pullups, I tried normal pullups. They were still hard but a lot easier than before.

I couldn’t really do pull ups till recently. I just went to the gym and used the assisted pull up machine and kept lowering the weight progressively until I could bang out sets of 8-12 at that weight, then I’d lower the weight and trained it like that. After a few months I didn’t need assistance anymore and I can comfortably do sets of 8-12.
